Arriving on Coragem Isle, the host, Gracilia Gama, says that Paulinho Varela, who was eliminated before getting onto a tribe last season, will be returning this season. The castaways took part in a random draw to select the two tribes, Cardassio (Vuna) and Saivas (Zamba). As Person P is the last person chosen, Gracilia reveals that they can choose whichever tribe they want. They choose to go with Saivas. The Zamba tribe is super excited about Paulinho returning to the game after unfairly being eliminated in Episode 1 of last season. Person P is also excited that he wasn't eliminated the same way. They quickly go over introductions: Person I is a 28 year old medical photographer, Person J is a 30 year old naval engineer, Person K is a 43 year old father of four, Person L is a 33 year old auto transmission specialist, Person M is a 37 year old seismologist, Person N is a 25 year old graphic designer, Paulinho is a 23 year old audio engineer, Person O is a 26 year old pastry chef and Person P is a 31 year old financial counselor. The tribe tried to build a temporary shelter with Person I and Person J noticing Person K's hesistant approach at leading the tribe in camp building. On the Vuna beach, Acupuncturist Person A and Law Firm Secretary Person B started sorting through the food supplies to look for idol clues, to the chagrin of Hospital Social Worker Person C. Despite Linoleum Installer Person D's best efforts, the Vuna shelter was incomplete before the night rain started. Discussion of keeping the tribe physically strong causes concern with tribe members Auto Body Customizer Person E and Insurance Collector Person F over whether they will be voted out first. Person E resents Mineral Technologist Person G taking a leadership role and believes he is taking the tribe in the wrong direction. SAIVAS wins Immunity! On the Cardassio tribe, Person G leads a discussion about voting Person F out of the tribe due to her poor performance at the Immunity Challenge and the perception that she is physically weakest. Person F is aware she is on the chopping block and her and Person E attempt to turn the tide against Person G for being a strong social threat and the leader of the tribe. Person G was also ruffling feathers with his take-charge demeanour around camp, but Person D tried to establish a positive tribe dynamic for the sake of future tribe challenge wins. Person A spoke with Person F and Person D about how quiet Person B has been. Person C overhears and comes on by, saying that Person A throwing Person B under the bus is strange, considering how the two of them were looking for idol clues together. After Person C leaves, Person F and Person D asks Person A is they are purposely throwing an ally under the bus with Person A denying that. At Tribal Council, Textile Designer Tania says that the tribe is chaotic as Person E wants Person G gone, Person G wants Person F gone, and Person A wants Person B gone. Person B is shocked with Person A denying that. Tania says that she likes to listen to what people have to say and, for some odd reason, everybody on the tribe trusts her with information. Person A asks Tania what she gains by revealing her strategy to everybody at camp. Tania says that nobody would dare vote her out if that is what she is getting at. Person A tells everybody on the tribe that Tania is willing to reveal information about everybody, whether it be true or false and then boast about how nobody will ever vote her out. Tania is the first castaway voted out.
