Quetanan Survivor: Shagg Island is the 1st season of the Quetanan competitive reality television series Quetanan Survivor. The season premiered in 2014.

| Gracilia Gama instructed seven of the castaways to swim out to an island where a machete and high-tech shoes waited for them. Meanwhile, the other ten castaways were dropped off on another part of the island with several crates of supplies labelled in English. Some crate contained survival supplies while others contained unsuitable items to the survival on the island. The group had to carry as they hiked across the sand dunes. The group of seven bonded on their journey, while the group of ten were instructed by Gracilia to take their crates onto a boat. Gracilia revealed that two of those ten would not continue with the journey, and that the group would have to cast two votes to determine which two castaways would be chosen. Army Intelligence Officer Gaspar and Fire Lieutenant Martinho received the most votes, and Gracilia revealed they would fly to Exile Island while the other eight would travel to camp by boat. The two groups united at their camp, while Martinho and Gaspar discovered a clue to a hidden immunity idol while exiled. On Day 2, Blackjack Supervisor Benny was put off by Singer/Songwriter Emilio wasting water from the well to cool off, leading to a public argument between the two. At Exile Island, a note deemed Martinho and Gaspar leaders, instructing them to divide the castaways into two tribes using orange and blue buffs also provided to them. As Paulinho was the last one standing, he was automatically eliminated but was told that he would have a free ticket to join Season 2. Martinho’s leadership role began to go to his head, annoying several tribe members as Asco (Martinho’s tribe wearing orange buffs) and Berry (Gaspar’s team wearing blue buffs) were introduced. The members of Asco (especially Pediatric Physician Assistant Herminia and Emilio) were frustrated by having to set up their camp after the long first day. Berry won the Immunity Challenge and made fire by the end of the night. Emilio wanted Martinho out, as Martinho did not contribute much at camp, while an injury to Almir's leg (due to him accidentally scraping it against a patch of coral) became infected. At Tribal Council, though Martinho’s leadership was called into question, Asco unanimously voted out Student Counselor Almir due to his injury; Gracilia then provided flint to Asco, since they had gone to Tribal Council. | ||

| At Berry, Airplane Electrician Gustavo and Benny both wanted to be the tribe’s "alpha male", and Chef Nathalia said she didn’t trust Gustavo due to him making several alliances. Before the challenge happened, everybody had to reach into a bag. The one person on each tribe who got a green rock had to switch. Emilio and Nathalia got to switch tribes. Berry won the Reward Challenge and chose to send Herminia to Exile Island. Herminia then had to pick one member from Berry to spend the night at the Asco camp, and she chose Gaspar. Morale at Berry was high after winning the first two challenges, and it grew even more after Broadcast Maintenance Engineer Luiza found berries as a food source and the men caught some fish with their reward. Meanwhile on Exile Island, Herminia’s search for the idol was delayed by the high tide and an approaching storm, though she later managed to find the idol after the storm subsided. The storm hit the Berry camp hard, and Luiza single-handedly constructed a better shelter, to Gaspar’s admiration. Asco won the Immunity Challenge. Financial Accountant Madalena grew threatened by Luiza’s perceived physical and strategic prowess, and attempted to rally votes against her. She would also bring her closest ally, Stay-at-home Mother of Three Victoria, as well as Gustavo into a Final 3 alliance. At Tribal Council, Madalena’s lobbying proved to be ineffective, as Emilio was voted out instead in the re-vote. | ||

| At Asco, Maximino makes an alliance with Herminia, Carlotta and Marciane. They call themselves "O Conselho" (The Council). At Berry, Luiza, Gaspar, and Dentist Tiago agreed to be honest with each other, while Gustavo and Madalena found a clam, which freaked out the latter. Luiza was ecstatic to be saved and felt like Madalena could not be trusted. At Asco, Martinho complained that he didn’t sleep as comfortably as his tribemates; he proceeded to accidentally break the tribe’s fishing hook. Treemail instructed each tribe to pick one representative that would compete in the reward challenge; Personal Trainer Maximino and Gaspar were chosen for Asco and Berry, respectively. Maximino won the Reward Challenge duel, 3-1, for Asco. Gracilia offered Maximino a note instead of the food (which would go to Berry if Maximino took the note), but Maximino stuck with the food reward. Gaspar was disappointed in himself for losing, while at Asco, Martinho ate more of the food for himself. Several Berry members agreed to vote out Benny next. Berry won the Immunity Challenge. Several of the Asco members wanted to vote out Martinho, who searched for the idol, as well as tried to convince his tribemates to vote out the new tribemate, Nathalia, just like the other tribe did with Emilio. As Nathalia was able to integrate herself into the tribe, he then tried to target Marciane. At Tribal Council, Martinho called out his tribe for appointing Aspiring Actress Marciane as a weight-bearer, as he felt that Administrative Assistant Yasmin would have been a better option. Ultimately, Martinho was unanimously voted out. | ||

| At Berry, Victoria tried and successfully convinced her closest ally, Madalena, that it was Gustavo who flipped, not her. Madalena became pissed at Gustavo. At Asco, Herminia felt comfortable in her alliance with Maximino, Marciane, and Swimwear Designer Carlotta, but she considered making a move against the tribe’s biggest perceived threat in Maximino. Asco won the Immunity Challenge. Carlotta and Marciane were a tight duo, which worried Maximino. At Berry, Benny attempted to search for the idol but was befuddled by the ambiguity of the clue. He eventually found the idol. Luiza was torn between voting out Madalena (the person who tried to get her out), Victoria (her closest ally) or Benny (strategic threat), while Gaspar was annoyed by Benny’s constant strategizing. At Tribal Council, Benny played his idol, making him safe from the votes. However, it became a tie between Luiza, Madalena and Victoria. In a rather shocking surprise, the majority of votes sent Victoria packing so that Luiza and Madalena kept targeting each-other. | ||

| Maximino’s leadership and efficiency at catching fish put Asco at a new high. Later, the alliance of Herminia, Maximino, Marciane, and Carlotta talk plans. Carlotta begins to feel like the other three are more loyal to each-other. At Berry, Benny worried about his position in the tribe, as he did not take to the social aspect as well as the others. The tribe agreed that Benny had to go next. Treemail revealed that the next challenge was for reward and immunity simultaneously. On Asco, a montage establishes Carlotta, Nathalia and Yasmin as the three better strategists of the tribe. Nathalia then gets the idea that the three of them should make a Final 3 alliance, which they name "Ameaça Tripla" (Triple Threat). Asco won the Immunity and Reward Challenge. Maximino wanted to eat the chickens right away, which didn’t sit well with animal lover Marciane. At Berry, Gustavo recognized Benny as a threat, since he knew the game better than the others. Gustavo began to grow paranoid, while Madalena told Gaspar that Gustavo had conspired against him before. Later, Madalena and Luiza, secretly, decided to ally, although Luiza still wanted to take her out sooner than later. Benny pleaded for his life in the game to several tribemates, while Gustavo worried about whom to make a secondary target if Benny were to play another idol. At Tribal Council, no idols were played, and Gustavo was shockingly voted out over Benny. | ||

| On Berry, Benny tries his best to integrate into the tribe while Luiza and Madalena's new secret alliance from last episode continues to be a secret. Madalena feels like she got back at Gustavo while Luiza says that, if Gustavo switched his vote [in Episode 2], then she feels like she had even smaller reason to vote him out. However, they both felt like Gustavo was trying to take control of the tribe. On Asco, Herminia and Marciane both notice how well Nathalia integrated into the tribe and begin to view her as a threat. Back on Berry, Luiza manages to find the hidden immunity idol. Berry won the Immunity and Reward Challenge. Herminia speaks to Maximino, Marciane, and Carlotta [her alliance] and discusses Nathalia going home. Marciane agrees. Carlotta, worried, goes to Nathalia and Yasmin and discusses voting for Herminia. Yasmin comes up with the idea of trying to split the votes. Nathalia tries to bond with Maximino, hoping to get him onto her side. Later, Carlotta talks to Maximino about how, perhaps, they can go after Yasmin, hoping to split the alliance's votes. Maximino begins to get suspicious but agrees to Yasmin. When Maximino talks to Herminia and Marciane about the new target being Yasmin, Herminia and Marciane talk to Carlotta and tries to convince her that Nathalia is a massive social threat and should go home now. At Tribal Council, the result is a tie. Marciane tells Carlotta that Nathalia is an enormous threat and taking her out now is the best move of the game. Carlotta tells Marciane that, in the alliance, she felt like she was on the bottom of the totem pole. So, she is switching things up. In a rather shocking development, Marciane and Maximino switch their votes (as revealed in the next episode, Maximino felt like Herminia would have lost the tie breaker challenge and he wanted to re-solidify things with Carlotta), sending Herminia home in the re-vote, unanimously. This also meant that Herminia went home with an idol in her pocket. | ||

| On Asco, Marciane and Maximino discuss being on the outs after Herminia was voted out and Carlotta flipping on The Council. They both hope that helping vote out Herminia in the revote helped their standing. Maximino, the 27 year old personal trainer, discusses wanting to open his own gym someday while Marciane, the 24 year old aspiring actress, discusses wanting to get into bigger and better productions. At the moment, she is just a make-up artist. Gasper felt as if he has played under the radar long enough. He talks to Luiza and Tiago (who all promised to be honest with eachother in Episode 3) about being the majority and, that, they should be an official alliance at this point. They agree, with Luiza, privately, thinking that, at the merge, she can try and bring Madalena into the alliance. This means, once again, Benny is on the outs and is, most likely the target as Tiago and Gaspar debate going after Benny first. Later, Tiago felt as though Luiza was going to be a huge threat in the merge and discussed with Gaspar about targeting her sooner than later and bringing Benny into the alliance as a new three. The two then approach Benny with being the new third in their alliance. Benny is confused about the wording "new third". On Berry, Marciane and Maximino, notably, get closer, discussing their families outside of the show and talk about being friends when everything is over. The other three on the tribe, Carlotta, Nathalia and Yasmin, also discuss being friends on the outside. As Nathalia cooks food later, all five tribemates discuss how exciting it is to be a part of Quetana's very first Survivor season and making Quetanan television history! They then discuss their personal lives: Nathalia being the 4th of six children, Carlotta feeling like she is getting somewhere with her swimwear designing career, Yasmin having a husband (Manoel, 30) and child (Amiro, 6M) at home, Marciane finding out who her real parents are and Maximino getting to bond with his parents over the past two years after a rough childhood. Asco would win Immunity. On Berry, Tiago makes the suggestion to Gaspar, Benny and Luiza that Madalena should go tonight. Everybody is fine with that. Luiza is very conflicted as her and Madalena are now allies but, also, that Madalena almost took her out twice and she is a very reckless player. She may even use her idol on Madalena if she wants to save her and lacks the votes as her and Madalena have been trusting each-other more. Gaspar talks to Luiza about how Tiago replaced her in the alliance with Benny and plans to take her out soon. He suggests they try and talk some sense into Tiago. Shocked, Luiza then goes to Madalena and tells her that Tiago wants the two of them out and, that, they should try and take Tiago out. Madalena panics and goes to Tiago, saying that Luiza wants him out and that she'll be loyal to him. Tiago wonders if taking out Luiza now would be more beneficial. At Tribal Council, Tiago brings up Madalena saying that somebody on the tribe is wanting him out and now he is debating between taking out Madalena, his original target (which shocks Madalena) or this other person. Madalena then apologizes to Luiza and says that the two of them can try and take out Tiago now (shocking everybody in the tribe, especially Luiza). Luiza denies going after Tiago or even suggesting to Madalena anything since they have been going after each-other this entire game. Madalena is, unanimously, voted out. | ||

| After returning from camp, Tiago apologizes to Luiza but says that Madalena was trying to stir the pot before Tribal. Luiza understands. The next day, on Asco, Marciane and Maximino are shown in a montage spending a lot of time together. The other three (Carlotta, Yasmin and Nathalia) try to invite them for chats in the shelter but the two of them just continue to talk alone. Said three discuss the one conversation about their lives being the only conversation they chose to join them on. On Berry, in the shelter, Gaspar talks to everybody about his wife (Susana, 52) and his children, (Lisandro, 24M), (Nicole, 22F), (Adelina, 20F) and (Ruy, 18M) and how proud of them he is and how he hopes that they are proud of him. There is a small montage of Gaspar being the friendliest person on the tribe. Everybody really enjoys his company. Gracilia Gama announces to everybody that they are now ... merged! On the new merged tribe, San Salvador, Benny is super ecstatic about surviving the pre-merge as he was targeted so often. There is a small montage of him being friendly and nice to everybody. He seems a lot more chill and happy compared to the pre-merge. Elsewhere, Tiago plays a bit hard, trying to aim for Yasmin to go while Carlotta, Nathalia and Yasmin try to aim for Gaspar to go. There is another small montage of Marciane and Maximino isolating themselves from the tribe to be by themselves with everybody noticing this as time goes on and being sketched out by it. The next day, Marciane and Maximino sit down and discuss making a new alliance. The two of them approach Benny, Luiza and Tiago about an alliance. They are all for it. Ameaça Tripla (Carlotta, Nathalia and Yasmin) discuss what to do next. Nathalia brings up the idea of splitting up Marciane and Maximino. Since they are talking strategy with them, they can't exactly make an alliance with them. Carlotta and Yasmin agree. Luiza, Marciane, Maximino and Nathalia go on Reward. During this, Luiza is upfront about Marciane and Maximino isolating themselves from the tribe and asks why. The other three are shocked at the bluntness. Nathalia then chimes in and says that, since Herminia left, they've turned down conversations with the others except for one specific conversation. Back at camp, Marciane and Maximino feel like they are on the outs due to this and blame themselves for that. Maximino talks to Luiza about being allies yet talking to them like that on reward. Luiza says that they didn't want to talk to anybody and then suddenly came to her about an alliance. She wanted to warn them that a lot of others left in the game are sketched out by them. Marciane and Maximino then go on, what they refer as, an "apology tour". Tiago wins Individual Immunity! Nathalia talks with Benny and Gaspar about going after Marciane and Maximino and they agree. Gaspar talks to Luiza about the others wanting to go after Marciane and Maximino. Luiza feels like they should try and keep them. Marciane and Maximino go to hunt for an idol, although Yasmin manages to spot them right as they find it. She goes to Carlotta, Nathalia, Tiago and Luiza, who are in the shelter, and tells them that M&M found the idol. Nathalia says that, if they plan to split them up, they need to figure out if they plan to use the idol and on whom. Luiza talks to Marciane and Maximino and tells them that Yasmin saw them find the idol and Nathalia plans to trick them. The two say that they will use the idol and take Nathalia out. As everybody heads to Tribal Council, the screen fades with a "To Be Continued". | ||

| It is one hour before Tribal Council. Nathalia suggests to Yasmin, Carlotta, Tiago and Benny that "Marcimino" may use the idol on Maximino so, perhaps, they should go for Marciane. Tiago talks to Gaspar about voting for Marciane as Nathalia brought up a good point that "Marcimino" may use their idol on Maximino. Gaspar talks to Luiza about voting for Marciane or Maximino and how the idol will play a lot into where the votes go. Luiza says that, if they can find a fifth vote, maybe the five of them could vote out Nathalia. Gaspar is unsure at the moment as he's tried to have conversations with Marciane and Maximino but it doesn't seem like they are too interested with talking to anybody but themselves. He doesn't have the reassurance that they would keep him safe. Luiza says that, if they keep them safe, she is sure that they would do the same. Luiza talks to Marciane and Maximino about how they need to campaign for votes. She is trying but she can't be the only one. Maximino talks to Benny while Marciane talks to Tiago. At Tribal Council, Maximino uses the idol on ... himself. Marciane is voted out. Back on San Salvator, Gaspar talks to Luiza in the shelter. He says that she was, no doubt, the third vote, but he won't say anything. They can blame that vote on somebody else. Luiza thanks him. Elsewhere, Maximino feels like he may be the next one to go and decides that he will win every competition from here on out. Tiago and Benny are out fishing. He tells Benny that he doesn't think either of them are the third vote. He doesn't feel like Carlotta, Nathalia or Yasmin could be the third vote considering how much the three of them wanted Marciane out. Benny says how that leaves Gaspar and Luiza. Tiago is convinced that Luiza is the third vote and that she needs to go as soon as possible. Tiago and Yasmin go on Reward. While there, the two agree to team up. Tiago is very adamant about Luiza being the third vote for Nathalia to go. Back at camp, Ameaça Tripla (Carlotta, Nathalia, Yasmin) are in the shelter. Yasmin says that Tiago is targeting Luiza for potentially being the third vote. Carlotta says that Tiago targeting somebody for being the third vote for somebody else is a little weird but, as long as he doesn't come after the three of them, she is good for whoever. Nathalia and Yasmin agree. Yasmin states that, as far as she is concerned, it is "everybody but them". Carlotta and Maximino win Immunities. Back at camp, Tiago makes it his mission to send Luiza home and campaigns to everybody about it. Gaspar is very conflicted and goes to Luiza about it as Tiago has been "going nuts". Luiza shows him her idol and says that, if need be, she'll use it. Before that, they should see how many votes they can get on their side. Ameaça Tripla (Carlotta, Nathalia, Yasmin) discuss Tiago and Luiza going after each-other. Yasmin feels like Luiza may have been the third vote while Carlotta feels as though Tiago has been playing really hard and may not entirely reliable. Luiza approaches them and tells them that she is voting for Tiago to go as he has been playing super hard and flat out betrayed her earlier. When asked how, Luiza said that they used to be allied but he decided to recruit Benny and target her out of nowhere. After she leaves, Yasmin notes how weird all of this is. Nathalia says that there is always a chance Tiago was the third vote considering how hard he is playing and there is a chance Luiza was telling the truth about the betrayal. At Tribal Council, Luiza plays her idol and Tiago is voted out. | ||

| After Tribal Council, everybody celebrates over making it to the Final 7! In the morning, in private, Ameaça Tripla (Carlotta, Nathalia, Yasmin) celebrate getting their alliance to the Final 7. They are very close to the end at this point. Later, in the shelter, everybody discusses a bit of their lives. Yasmin says that her and Manoel were high school sweethearts and got married when they were 23 and Gaspar relates as he and his wife, Susana, got married at 24. Benny discusses being gay, Carlotta mentions that "Mata" was her mom's last name and she has only met her real father a handful of times and Luiza talks about being really close to her siblings (Davi, 32M | Dina, 30F | Pedrinho, 28M) and that her mom was her inspiration for becoming a paramedic. Later, Benny talks to Maximino about the pre-merge as he struggled quite a bit due to being the target all the time and was curious what his experience was. When Maximino mentions the downfall of The Council, Benny suggests going after Carlotta to avenge Herminia. Maximino is all about that idea should they manage to get the votes. It is the Loved Ones Visit! Each castaway's loved ones will join them for the Reward competition. Here are the castaways and their loved ones: Benny and his younger brother, Cezar Andrade (24M) Luiza wins ... but is allowed to bring one other person and their loved one. She chooses Gaspar and Susana. | ||

| The next morning, in private, Ameaça Tripla (Carlotta, Nathalia, Yasmin) celebrate making it to the Final 6. They discuss voting Maximino out due to him most likely wanting Carlotta out due to the downfall of The Council. As Maximino was a huge wildcard, it was worth the risk. After all, how else would Benny know about the Herminia vote and how it went down if Maximino didn't say anything about it? Elsewhere, Benny has a mini celebration over taking out Maximino but hoped that they all could've taken out Carlotta, Nathalia or Yasmin as they are now 3-3 in the Final 6. Speaking of those three, the three of them practice fire-making. Gaspar wins Individual Immunity. Benny and Luiza discuss taking out one of Carlotta, Nathalia or Yasmin. Benny says that they should practice fire-making in the event of a tie since Gaspar is the only one of them to be immune. At Tribal Council, Luiza plays the hidden immunity idol on herself with Carlotta being sent packing. | ||
