Marie-Agathe, Crown Princess of Autelia (Maria Agata Elisabetta Elena Amalia Romana; 2 June 1911 - 15 August 1946) was an Italian-born member of the Autelian royal family. She was the fifth child of King Victor Emmanuel III and Queen Elena of Italy.

In 1942, she married the heir to the Autelian throne, Alexander. They had one daughter, Marie-Claude.

Marie-Agathe was killed in a boating accident off the coast of Autelia in 1946, at the age of 35. Her husband later became King of Autelia.

She is the namesake of her great-granddaughter and present Queen of Autelia, Marie-Agathe.

Early life

Princess Maria Agata of Savoy was born on 2 June 1911, in Rome, Italy. She was the fifth child of Victor Emmanuel III of Italy and Princess Elena of Montenegro. She had five siblings: Iolanda, Mafalda, Umberto, Giovanna, and Maria Francesca.

Marriage and children

In 1942, Marie-Agathe married Crown Prince Alexander of Autelia, the son and heir of King Charles VI of Autelia.

The couple had one child, Marie-Claude, born in 1943.

Death and burial

On 15 August 1946, Marie-Agathe was on a boat with some friends when the vessel's engine exploded, killing all four passengers on board. Autelia entered an official period of state mourning for the Crown Princess.

Marie-Agathe's funeral was held on 30 August 1946, at the Cathédrale de Saint-Seigneur in Santerre. She is buried in the Royal Vault at the cathedral.
