Alexander III (Alexander Charles Maximilian Louis; 29 July 1908 - 20 June 1979) was King of Autelia from 1958 until his death in 1979.

Early life

Prince Alexander of Autelia was born on 29 July 1908 at the Royal Palace, Santerre, during the reign of his grandfather, King Charles V. He was the eldest child of the Crown Prince and Princess of Autelia King Charles VI and Queen Marie-Amélie.

He was baptised Alexander Charles Maximilian Louis at the Cathédral du Saint-Seigneur on 11 September 1908. His godparents included his paternal grandmother Queen Marie, his paternal aunt Princess Marie-Raphaëlle of Autelia, his maternal grandfather, Karl-Theodor, Duke in Bavaria, and his maternal uncle King Albert I of Belgium. He was named for his paternal great-grandfather Alexander II of Autelia, his father and paternal grandfather, his maternal great-grandfather Duke Maximilian Joseph in Bavaria, and his maternal uncle Duke Ludwig Wilhelm in Bavaria. He was known within the family as "Andie".

As was typical for upper-class children of the period, Alexander and his siblings were raised by nannies and governesses, receiving a private education from tutors.

Marriage and children

In 1941, Crown Prince Alexander became acquainted with Princess Maria Agata of Savoy, the youngest daughter of the King and Queen of Italy.
