The Maritime Protection Service (MPS; Brumenese: Seeschutzdienst), also commonly referred to as the GAR Coast Guard, is the coast guard of Brumen. Its primary roles includes protection against illegal fishing within the country's exclusive economic zone (EEZ), enforcement of maritime law, maritime border protection as well as search and rescue. The MPS was originally a sub-component of the Royal Navy and was known as the Patrol Force, however in 2012 it was split from the Navy and reorganized as the Maritime Protection Service, an independent service branch of the Grand Army of the Realm.
