Aelandi, officially the Republic of Aelandi is a country located in Central Elisia.

The country consists of 13 Regions with 3 of them being Autonomous Republics, with a population of 213 million people spread between them. Aelandi has 1 official language, Aelandian. It also recognizes Undukian and Ziroxian as minority languages. As of 2025 Dalfanese is no longer considered an official language and Khoyerjyan has gotten it's status as minority language revoked

Aelandi’s five largest cities are currently, Krinas, Koīmarpa, Zokretaz, Tojamirā and Fakrokh with the capital city being Krinas. Krinas also holds the seat of power with the Low Government and the High Government being located there as are most ministries (excluding the ministry of Agriculture).

The land Aelandi sits on has been inhabited for thousands of years. The earliest texts in the Pre-Aelandian language were found from 1000BCE with the earliest inscription of the name Aelandi being used was the year 734 all be it inscribed as Tsjavkratstlandi meaning Land of the Tsjav

Etymology

As of 2026 nobody knows where the name Aelandi came from. The only part historians know is where the landi part of the name came from, meaning land of in Aelandian. In both 2003, 2010 and 2015 historians, researchers and scientists from both Aelandi and Dalfan have tried to do an investigation to figure out where the Ae part comes from. Some researches believes it comes from the Azevk Tribe who inhabited the Iklirkna Forest located in the Zakritnov Region though that is still unconfirmed. In late 2025 a new team of historians and locally known Aelandizhna (People who have an expert degree in the Aelandian language) have set up another attempt at researching the name. So far the research has not yet led to a conclusion.

History

Prehistory

The prehistory of Aelandi is widely unknown though minor artifacts have been found including a stringed instrument, noseflute and several clothes which historians suspect have been used as clothing. As of currently not much is known and artifacts are rarely being dug up anymore. Researchers think that a lot of artifacts have been destroyed in the Aelandi-Dalfan War

The Lost Era (500 BCE-500 AD)

These years are known as the Ħjavrazhtja Nestrōvi meaning [the] Lost Era as researchers have, as of yet found nothing indicating any specific activities have been found from these years. Researchers currently does not know why they have not been able to confirm any of the activities from these years. Historians are actively trying to look for any clues about these years but as of 2026 nothing has been found yet. Despite all attempts some historians have actively stopped looking for any information of these years as there is so little information available.

The Era of Kingdoms (500-1032)

These years are known as the Irvrastroka Nestrōvi meaning [the] Kingdom Era In these years there were a lot of separate kingdoms which all roughly had the same ccustoms, language, writing system and beliefs. Though, will all the Kingdoms having a mild agreement with each other it was widely known that one should not suddenly cross into one's kingdom without any permission which could be the earliest form of a VISA. Kings and Queens of all kingdoms had one treaty with all of the separate kingdoms which said that: "all subjects of any of the kingdoms, queendoms, states, principalities or any state shall not cross villages with other kingdoms unless a reigning head of the state of residence and the state the visitor wants to visit." This treaty forbade all citizens of any kingdom to visit any other kingdom without a letter with a Royal Stamp.

In late the year 1010 there was a call to unify all of the states together which was a great success although not fully. A lot of states joined a union called the Ztranstrak Irvrastroka meaning Northern Kingdom and a second union was formed called the Sazi Irvrastroka meaning Southern Kingdom. The devide between those two kingdoms is still seen today.

The Two Kingdoms (1032-1201)

The Two Kingdoms was the collective name for the Northern Kingdom and the Southern Kingdom together. Both kingdoms operated under a different royal family. The Kingdoms were very similar in language and culture though at times they could be very different.

The Northern Kingdom for example, used the Altravizhja alphabet (Latin Alphabet) and the Southern Kingdom used the Mostravizhja alphabet (Cyrillic Alphabet). Both Kingdoms also wanted to unify, though, they wanted to unify under their own royal family.

It was late 1200 that there was a King from the Northern Kingdom named King Razel Klamstrava I who had the idea of unifying by force. In December of 1200 King Razel I and his army invaded the Southern Kingdom and took over the throne and named the land Irvrastroka Āelandi meaning Kingdom of Aelandi

Kingdom of Aelandi (1201-1830)

The newly formed Kingdom of Aelandi was a very large kingdom. It was made up of modern day Aelandi and the full territory of what is current day Dalfan. In 1458 the Kingdom of Dalfan broke away from the Kingdom of Aelandi in battle near the Vizjetatjarsk River. The Kingdom of Aelandi was a wealthy very free kingdom. The Royals of the kingdom were always very open and very polite to their subjects which was very rare for the time. There have been stories in which the King had invited people from the lowest class over to his palace to drink tea and coffee and stay over for lunch.

Although not everyone liked the unification as much. There was a particular principality, the Principality of Nakletsk which was very against the idea of a large unified Kingdom as they have previousely enjoyed their own freedoms and independence. Though, agains the will of Nakletsk they were still seen as one of the beauties of Aelandi and because of that King Razel proclaimed Rivkjavot the capital city of the whole kingdom. Most people enjoyed their great amount of freedom, though. In 1830 that would suddenly change by the biggest war Aelandi has ever found itself in.

The Aelandi-Dalfan War is in Aelandi still seen as the worst war the country has ever seen and therefor the end of the war is a national holiday together with a rememberance day.

Southern United Provinces (1830-1910)

The Southern United Provinces was the name the Dalfanese gave occupied Aelandi. The Dalfanese King ordered all foreign powers to either address the former Kingdom of Aelandi as either the Southern United Provinces or the Kingdom of Dalfan. King Dalfan V always firmly believed that including the Dalfanese lands in Aelandi was bad for the Dalfanese people. In one of his speeches he allegedly said "I shall make you feel what you made the Dalfanese people felt. They were not happy about being Aelandian but were feeling worse when you left them" in his first speech after taking over the Aelandian lands.

The new Dalfanese King ruled that any Aelandian flag, the object most Aelandians were very proud of, had to be given to Dalfanese officials to be burned in front of the new King. Anyone who did not turn in their flag was arrested and were tortured until they gave up their flag. One of the people who did not give up the flag despite the torture was Fernot Hezmotjak, he is currently seen as a National Hero and has received the Order of Outstanding Bravery despite not being alive anymore for a long time.

These years are seen as the darkest years of Aelandi and have played great impact in how the country is run today as people realized that it is impossible for one person to have all of the power to decide at will.

Aelandian Free State (AFS) (1910-1925)

The Aelandian Free State was a compromise with the Dalfanese King and a proxy government in occupied Aelandi. The compromise was that Aelandi was allowed it's name back and was allowed a government though heavily influenced by the Dalfanese. Many people alive at that time speculated if it was even worth to go with this compromise as it would mean that the government would be even stricter on the people.

During the rule of the AFS many people died under it's strict regime. Many people were sent to the Morvitaja Ufratjana meaning Extermination Camps. People were sent there for the lightest of crimes like listening to concerts, flying the old Aelandian Royal flag or speaking out negatively about the Dalfanese King. Historians guess that around 50,000-100,000 people have been killed in various camps built in both Aelandi and Dalfan completely against the Aelandian will.

The Aelandian Free State government was made up of one party, the Nationalist Party. The NP was strict though were also very against the idea of the camps and oftenly were embarrased to walk into the governmental palace when going in for meetings and would be seen with either their heads down or faces covered.

In October of 1925 the Aelandian Defense League (ADL) invaded the Dalfanese capital and kidnapped the king and ordered complete independence which greatly worked out in Aelandi's favour. The reason the ADL was able to walk into Dalfanese territory is because they gained rights to train troops in Dalfanese territory. It was also fairly common to see ADL members in Liones, the capital of Dalfan.

Republic of Aelandi (1925-present)

When the Aelandians gained their independence they immediately elected a new government which went, according to the first Prime-Minister MiĦhan Frjatnatovka "surprisingly easy". The new Aelandian government wanted a fresh restart for which they moved the capital from Rivkjatot to Krinas and made Krinas a special province called the Krinas Capital Region.

In 2023 Aelandi was asked to voluntarily invade Nimagrajovokkraji. Having close relations with Aelandi even during the occupation was seen as a call for help and the Aelandians got to work immediately and without 24 hours the country was under Aelandian rule under a new name. They currently enjoy the freedom of having their own government separate from the Aelandian government.

Also in 2023 Aelandi was on a conquest for cultural expansion in which they went to Tujovaan and invaded the land and currently operate under the name Aelandian-Takaria being located on the Takaria continent. Aelandian-Takaria currently enjoys most freedom out of all of the Autonomous Republics.

In the last 5 years there have been various protests and riots in the Autonomous Republic of South-Aelandi to be renamed to Nakletsk after the government renamed the former Republic of Nakletsk to South-Aelandi in 1930. The patriotism for their new name has been a surprising uprising as for the past 80 years they have been fine with it. Though first said to be impossible to change the name serious talks have commenced and the possibility might be there for the South-Aelandians. As of now the case is not resolved.

Law & Duties

The Aelandian constitution, known as Trovta Natjonal VuĦtrufsa literally meaning "Book of the National Law" is a book which was written in 1925 describing the so called Aelandian Standard. The Aelandian Standard is the more common name for the collection of the constitution and the national lawbook.

An Aelandian knows several duties which can range from simple duties like being in school from your 4th birthday until your 18th to the military service every Aelandian, unless chosen for the Civil Service sector. The first article of the Aelandian constitution is a sentence a lot of Aelandians know from heart "All people who are Aelandian or are on Aelandian soil the worth of the person is inviolable. All subjects on Aelandian grounds shall be treated the same in poltical views, sex, gender, beliefs or on any other basis"

Economy

Aelandi's economy is one of the strongest on Telrova with a nominal GDP of 8.5T with a market economy with minor inputs from the national government though the companies influenced by the government were mostly state-run before privatization like the Aelandian Space Flight Administration or the Aelandian National Railways. The Aelandian National Railways (ANL) has been state-run since 1810 until 2015 when it became semi-privatized meaning that the government still funds the ANL but they get to decide themselves what they do with the money.

The Aelandian economy is mostly made up of the industrial and agricultural export yearly exporting 1.5 billion schillings (750 million rovas) worth of raw timber to neighboring states. Aelandi is also the number 1 exporter in ready-made meals and MRE's. A major MRE (Meal Ready to Eat) company, Erzhvatam recently defaulted due to it's main importer no longer accepting imports though several companies have bought parts of Erzhvatam to safe it's downfall.

Infrastructure

Aelandi has one of the best roads on Telrova being ranked #2 in a independent study on roads across the world. The Ministry of Infrastructure spends about 1 billion to 2 billion rovas per year on average on road construction to make sure all roads are set to the high standard required by said ministry.

Aelandian highways have two categories the Eftjatar meaning "highway" and the Ħurflakan meaning "Expressway". Most highways in Aelandi are the so called expressways in which there is no speedlimit unless there is less than 50 meters of visibility.

Energy production

Around 85% of Aelandian electricty comes from renewable sources like wind, nuclear and solar powered stations. The country tries to strive for 90% by the end of 2026 and 100% by 2030. Currently the biggest source of electricity is nuclear energy making up 65% of all energy suppliers in Aelandi. The company Sivritjat a young and fully private nuclear energy company even export some of their nuclear energy with their biggest customer being the Dalfan. Their main audience are the southern regions of Dalfan.
