The National Union for Defence is a paramilitary organisation supported by the Government of Valtriva they were founded in 1900 as a partisan group fighting for Valtrivan independence from Valimia. The Union for Defence also takes part in cultural events. The Union was one of the key groups in the Valtrivan War of Independence and the Valtrivan-Rovinian War. In modern times the Union has been involved in cultural celebrations and has a role in guarding and the upkeep of national buildings and monuments.
