Caitland is inspired by early medieval Ireland and Scotland, probably unintentionally more the latter because I have read more about it. Unlike Scotland with England it was large and powerful enough to be a serious competitor to Alsaxony well into modernity, and the today-amicable relationship between the two in the Albish Community is balanced.
