Geography

Acturia is characterised by a relatively flat topography, though mountains can be found in the north and south-east of the country. The main river of Acturia crosses the east of the country in north-southernly direction. The majority of the population lives alongside it or its tributaries.

Climate

Much of Acturia is dominated by a semi-arid continental climate with hot summers and cold winters, with the north of the country being generally cooler and significantly wetter (especially the Vorod Territory).

Religion

There are two major religious groups in Acturia: Perendism and Jyanism. In general, there is a trend towards areas in the south of the country and rural areas to be predominantly Jyanist, while areas further north as well as urban areas in the country’s east tend to be predominantly Perendist, with the city of Perin in the north-east being the centre of Acturian Perendism, while the city of Yarin in the south is the centre of Acturian Jyanism. Both religions take influences from traditional Turian beliefs and use Classical Turian as their liturgical language.

Perendism in Acturia is, for the most part, Classical Perendism which does not recognise the Dicere, though some Apostolic Perendist communities can be found in the north and north-west of the country, particularly along the border with the Bolshtine Republic and in the Vorod Territory.
