Marie Kiri Wirihana, DCGO, KSO, GPSM, PC, FRCS, FRCMA, (née Hariwana, born 10 September 1972), is a Gallambrian doctor who was the twelfth Governor of the Gallambrian Adlantic Ocean Territories, serving since 21 March 2019 until 23 March 2023. Before being sworn-in as Governor, Wirihana was the Chief Health Officer of AOT Health from 2011 to 2019.
Career
Wirihana was born in 1972 in Whakaroa. She attended secondary school at St Elizabeth's All Girls High School, graduating in 1990, before studying at Aberdeen University and graduating in 1996 with a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery. She started her career as a doctor at Aberdeen Hospital in 1996.
She returned to Motutapu in 2005, where she continued her work in the public health sector at King Edward Hospital, Whakaroa, where she remained until her appointment as Chief Health Officer of the Adlantic Ocean Territories Health Services in 2011.
On 12th August 2019, Prime Minister Nadia Burnett annouced that Wirihana would become the 12th Governor of the Gallambrian Adlantic Ocean Territory. She was succeeded by film producer and arts educator, Sir Henare Taimana.
