The Meoquanee also referred to as the Great Meoquanee Nation is a tribal confederation between the Ehawee, Takchawee,Tocho, Nokosi, Mahkah, Kwatoko, and Chosovi tribes in -PLACEHOLDER-. The Confederation was founded in 1794 when a man named Tuskaluza, known as Skennenrahawi, the "Great Peacemaker", brought the seven tribes together and formed what is referred to as the Council of Seven Fires. Today 505,021 people live within the Meoquanee nation tribes with the largest being the Ehawee (223,564 members) and the smallest besing the Nokosi (17,210 members.)
History
Religion
Most of The Meoquanee follow the traditional religion called "Gaihwi:io" or "Good Message" which reveres the central deity known as The Great Spirit, simply referred to as Unetlanvhi, or "Creator", who presides over all things and created the earth for all his "children". The Great Spirit is considered omnipotent, omnipresent, and omniscient.
