Kyledus Perampla, more commonly known as Kitan (Garderruth: Eof [ɛɔf]) is a sapient giant species native to northern Pelia, originating from Kyldigard. Like their sister species Kyledus Idealis (a.k.a. Kyleth), Kitan are bipedal cetaceans with large, human-like features. Kitan have extremely powerful lungs due to their genetic makeup and their size, and because of this their species is de facto fully amphibious, unlike Kyleth, whose seven-hour-long breath-holding capabilities do not permit them to live fully underwater. It is a product of the Incursion of 511 AR, a magical catastrophe in Kyldigard during the early days of its magical pioneering. Kitan are highly respected by most smaller sapient species, with gifts, food, and specially-made clothing being bestowed onto them by smaller nearby residents. Kyleth and Kitan, although both artificially created, currently have a protector-provider form of mutualistic symbiotic relationship. It is often debated whether Idealis perampla should count as its own species or rather simply a subspecies or ethnic group due to its nature as a magical experimental accident, however it can be noted that Perampla, often commonly known as Kitans, or more natively, Eof, exhibits radically different social, behavioral and mental characteristics from their smaller counterparts.
Genetic Traits
Coloration and Ethnic Identity
Due to being an ethnically diverse species, Kyleth have many different colorations. Because of this, Kitan come in all the same ethnic patterns as Kyleth, however due to their alienation from their original ethnic cultures, they do not share their colors' ethnic identity, but rather their own shared ethnic identity as a species.
Size
The Kyledus Perampla species is considerably larger than its fellow 60-inch Kyleth counterparts, standing at an average of 180-200 feet (54-61 m). It usually does not live in dense Kyleth settlements that do not have access to a large body of water, due to a lack of accommodation or room for itself within these settlements and cities.
