Mariana Santana Magalhães was the 8th Carinansian president, elected in 2069 on promises of economic prosperity via nationwide infrastructure construction efforts to promote productivity. They fell through in 2072 after all companies and businesses withdrew support for the program, causing an economic collapse as confidence in the economy was at an all-time low. She ended the years of a Union Socialist majority with the four-year term, and was succeeded by PRC president Julian Águila.
Born in 2008 to the PTC Governor of Ipudorm Antônio Santana de Oliveira, who remained in the position until 2017. He was elected as a national senator in 2020 in a special by-election. She received extensive parental funding to attend prestigious universities around the world, receiving extensive education on Public Administration to encourage her to pursue a similar career as her father. In 2045, she was elected Governor of Ipudorm after serving for years as a State Senator for Puerto Adinerado. She remained in the position until 2057 when she was elected to become a national senator representing Plaimo. She gained further national prominence in 2061 when she was appointed President of the National Congress Budget Committee and she promoted party policy.
In 2069 she was elected president, at first promising prosperity but these claims later fell through as the first national economic crash since the Vascara War in the mid-2020s took place in 2071. Support for the Union Socialists crumbled and eventually saw various ineffectual efforts on her part to retain government influence in the years to come by attempting to appoint an additional supreme court justice in the failed Appointment of César Franco.
After her presidency ended, her national political career ended as her incompetence throughout her term drastically reduced her popularity to less than 50% by the end of her term. She became the state senator of El Limrigua for the next 16 years, ending after the success of PRC candidate Josué Montenegro in 2091
