The Secretary of State for the Union, also referred to as the union secretary, is a secretary of state in the Government of the United Kingdom, with overall responsibility for promoting the preservation and continuation of the union between the constituent countries of the United Kingdom through the Department for the Preservation and Continuation of the Union. The incumbent is a member of the Cabinet of the United Kingdom, currently Ian Murray of the Labour Party under Prime Minister Keir Starmer.
