M2120A3 Heavy Main Battle Tank
The M2120A3 Heavy Main Battle Tank is the latest and most advanced iteration in the M2120 series, representing the apex of Scion Defence's tank development. Following the M2120A1 and M2120A2, the A3 incorporates significant upgrades and improvements based on extensive combat experience and technological advancements.
The A3 is armed with the formidable TG-9 140mm smooth bore cannon, mounted on an unmanned turret. This armament features an autoloader and caseless rounds, offering a high rate of fire and precise targeting. The autoloader system, inspired by the ICR-8 assault rifle, uses a rotating rack to feed rounds into the chamber, allowing the gunner to select rounds via a touch screen and ensuring a rapid and efficient loading process.
For secondary armament, the A3 is equipped with a co-axial .50 caliber machine gun, complemented by two Scion PDWS (Point Defence Weapon Systems) units. Each PDWS unit includes a .50 caliber stacked projectile machine gun and six IAD-6 (Infantry Air Defence) missiles, providing robust defensive capabilities against various threats.
In terms of protection, the A3 boasts a robust armor configuration, featuring a titanium hull with DU and tungsten mesh and CO2 honeycomb cells. This multi-layered armor system is designed to withstand and dissipate impacts effectively. The A3 can also be outfitted with the advanced Gladiator defence system for hard kill, electronic jamming, and visual jamming, as well as ERA and NERA bricks for enhanced protection. Additionally, the RIOT non-lethal defence system is available for added security.
The A3 is powered by the SGT-4 gas turbine engine, delivering 1600hp, an upgrade from the previous SGT-2 engine. The tank employs a TSS hydro pneumatic-torsion bar hybrid suspension system, enabling it to reach speeds of 100km/h on road and 75km/h off road. The operational range is 700km, extendable to 900km with external fuel tanks.
Equipped with full C4I (Command, Control, Communications, Computers, Intelligence) capabilities, the A3 utilizes the SMBN (Sciox Military Battle Network), allowing for global connectivity and real-time control of UCAVs or UGVs. The on-board LCC-20 computer system integrates multiple touch screens, simplifying crew operations and enhancing task efficiency.
