The Kiefern Group (German: Kiefern Gruppe) is a group of five public universities in Nidwalden. The term Kiefern in Nidwalden is oftenly used to refer to the five universities with connotations of academic excellence and selectivity in admissions. The five members are University of Cologne, Bremen-Nassau University, Saint Moritz University, Vaduz-Hohenheim University and Lech-Hildesheim University.

The Kiefern Universities are generally viewed as the most prestigious in Nidwalden and enjoy of a regional recognition in countries of the Lorecian Community. The five Universities are often ranked as some of the best universities in Astyria and Nidwalden, in the 2019 Nidwalden Education Report, the five universities were ranked with several other private universities in the country but the five Kiefern were included in the top ten. There is an unofficial group called Little Kiefern that is used to refer to small, highly academically-competitive public liberal arts colleges around Nidwalden, the eleven counties of Nidwalden count with universities catalogued as Little Kiefern.
