Tigulia, officially the Grand Duchy of Tigulia, is a country in Southern Asura. It is bordered by Colgasia to the north, Atresca to the east, the Asur Sea to south, and Mirina to the west. It has a population of over 11.4 million inhabitants. The capital and largest city is Altare, located along the country's southern coastline. Other major cities are Carro, Imperia, Lucinasco, and Savona.
Historically, Tigulia was a part of the Fiorentine Empire, the Alydian Empire, Mirina, and various Atrescan states. When the Alydian Empire was dissolved in 1812, the area of Tigulia became a part of the newly-independent Crown of Mirina. The country emerged following the November Revolution in 1861, which established Tigulia as an independents state for the first time.
The country is officially a federal parliamentary constitutional monarchy. Its government structure is complex and is based on regional, ethnic, and linguistic grounds. There are three autonomous regions: the Garulian Community in the south, the Monician Community in the northwest, and the Colgasian Community in the northeast. The capital of Altare was given special status as a Federal City and is governed independently of the three communities.
