The West Phoenicia Segregation Party is a major party in West Phoenician politics that is part of the Coalition along with; Antebellum Conservative Party, Christian People's Party and the West Phoenicia Aristocracy Party
A party that overall represents middle class to upper class voters, it advocates for segregation based on economic factors. Believing those who give more in taxes should have increased benefits to education, health and lifestyle.
The party was founded February 25, 1960
History
The party was founded in 1960 by wealthy housewife Agatha Watson
Agatha was the wife of a West Phoenicia Empire First Party Senator. She differed on his Centre-left beliefs, she stated in interviews that West Phoenicia needed to reward those citizens who were contributing higher taxes and benefiting the economy.
She said West Phoenicia needed a party that overall represented middle class to upper class voters. A party that advocates for segregation based on economic factors. A tough on immigration policy and a party that focused on diplomacy without having to always step in and deal with other countries conflicts.
The party had minimal success in the 60's, obtaining 10 House of Representatives and seats and a Senate seat. But they had alot of competition from the 19 other parties registered.
Left wing groups organised a number of protests against the Segregation Party during the 60s and 70s. During these protests they would clash wirh Segregation supporters.
False information circulated that the party supported racial segregation. Party leaders denied supporting racial segregation, that people of any race can join the party.
In 1972 party leader Allen Spring took the West Phoenicia Empire First Party to court over slanderous comments that has cost them seats at the election.
During the 1980's the party suffered major swings against them as the nation's government came under the control of the West Phoenicia Empire First who allied with left wing groups.
To appease the left wing faction in their party and approved deals with left wing political groups, policies were enacted to reduce the conservative power base. Social Democratic policies were introduced that tackled social justice, gender equality, poverty and welfare.
Money was spent enacting universal care for the elderly, child care, education and health care. Welfare groups applauded the measure of increased welfare payments and the removal of conditions thst recipients had to find work.
Immigration was relaxed which saw over 1 million people emigrate between 1980 to 1987. And the nation opted to have an open door policy for refugees.
However the national debt tripled under all the new social welfare programs that were passed.
The 4th and 5th West Phoenician civil wars caused massive damage and loss of life.
Queen Jezebel Bush further increased the national debt with her outlandish spending, grand building projects and bribery.
She cancelled many of the programs the West Phoenicia Empire First Party had established to save money.
The Segreration Party gained favour with the new queen. Segregation Leader Emerson Altoni was able to get her to agree to a number of policies. In 2004 the Queen approved the 'let them eat cake act.
The act ensured the wealthy and nobility classes were granted by law to have hospitals, cafes, hotels, attend schools and venues exclusively for the upper classes. Segregating them from the lower classes. Segregation Party and Aristocracy Party members hailed it a victory.
The Segregation Party lost favor in 2009 during the 5th West Phoenician civil war. Party Leader Murphy Reinhart and other high ranking party members had aligned with Thaddeus Gryphon and the intervention of the Kingdom of Gryphon to intervene and remove Queen Jezebel Bush from the throne.
The Segregation Party felt the Queen had become too powerful, that she was ignoring the Constitution.
Neptune Greenwich won the governorship of
Neo Aztecayan Province in 2013 and has held the seat since. As of the 2019 election he holds it by 57.8%.
