Operation Shadow Network

Operation Shadow Network (Lijiangese: 影子网络, Yǐngzǐ Wǎngluò) was the code-name for a Lijiangese military operation on the planet of Calagains. It is the first military operation that was launched during the Campaign of Calagains. Units that originated from the L.R.A. Huajia and L.R.A. Shenzhou were send onto the surface of Calagains. The operation's goal was to establish a telecommunications network on the planet in as little time as possible in order to communicate between ground troops. The operation was an overall success with planetary communications being established in three months. Operation Shadow Network was afterwards followed by Operation Copperhorn.

After the end of the Battle over Northern Calagains and the start of the Battle of Southern Calagains, the Lijiang Strategic Council of Calagains agreed that any delays encountered on the ground may stretch their resources further on the Huajia and Shenzhou. After the establishment of control over Northern Calagains, reinforcements from the Xila System were signalled. Li Zeshu, the leader of the Strategic Council, came up with a plan to begin covert operations on the surface despite control over Southern Calagains had not been established.

The Lijiang Unit 21 was transported onto the surface using Lijiangese Dark Energy Teleportation Matrix from the Huajia. Unit 21 was geared with Lijiangese Environmental Protective Biosuit and Lijiangese Model 53 Covert Armor. This operation marked the first usage of the Lijiang Quantum Displacement Device. Unit 21 was initially transported in Midrash in the east.
