Valkryon Air Base is a Tarsan military base located in Yisrael and is the central command facility of Legion Command Yisrael, or YISCOM. It is 9 kilometers from the major city of Ashkelon.
History
During the last months of the cease-fire of the Third West Scipian War, the Roth regime invited Tarsas to build military bases in strategic locations to deter Sydalon from renewing its offensive into Yisrael. The Tarsan government accepted and agreed to build several bases, the first of which would become the Valkryon air base.
During the last weeks of its construction, the cease-fire collapsed and Yisrael and Sydalon renewed the final phase of the Third War. During the 7-month campaign, the Royal Yisraeli Air Force used the mostly-complete air fields to garrison and deploy interceptors and fighter-bombers to establish air superiority over the western theater of the war.
After the decisive Yisraeli victory, the sudden death of the king aroused public suspicion that General Roth was planning to create a totalitarian regime and the Second Yisraeli Civil War broke out in 1950. Underground communist forces with wide support in Ashkelon seized control of the air base during the early fighting. It was later taken by troops under the royalist flag.
In 1952, Tarsan forces took control of the facilities and moved their Yisrael command and air wing onto the premises.
During the outbreak of the Fourth West Scipian War in the mid-1960s, Tarsan and Yisraeli air squadrons deployed from the base to support a successful infantry and armored defense of the western theater.

Garrison
The garrison at Valkryon consists of a full Cohort of Tarsan troops as well as a bomber regiment and two fighter regiments. The unusually heavy concentration of air power is a left over deployment from past wars when Tarsan squadrons successfully defended Yisraeli air space countless times. Despite the large number of aircraft maintained in Yisrael, the Imperial Air Legion staffs roughly half the pilots necessary and relies on assistance from Yisraeli pilots operating aircraft on lease agreements. Similarly, maintenance and repairs are conducted by Yisraeli as well as Tarsan crews to cut down on the costs of maintaining such a large fleet of aircraft. Aerial refueling aircraft and other logistics transportation is provided by the Royal Yisraeli Air Force.
