The Army Combat Cross is the Lumenic Army's highest award for soldiers who display extraordinary heroism in combat with an armed enemy force. Actions that merit the Army Combat Cross must be of such a high degree that they are above those required for all other combat decorations, but which do not meet the criteria for the King's Cross or the Ordo Lux.
The branch specific Combat Cross is distinct from the branch specific Distinguished Service Award, which is awarded to members if the Lumenic Legion in recognition of exceptionally meritorious service to the government in a duty of great responsibility. The Combat Cross for each service branch is only awarded for actions in combat, while the Distinguished Service Award has no such restriction.
Awarding and eligibility
The Army Combat Cross is awarded to a person who, while serving in any capacity with the Army, distinguishes themselves by extraordinary heroism not justifying the award of a higher award; while engaged in an action against an enemy of the nation; while engaged in military operations involving conflict with an opposing/foreign force; or while serving with friendly foreign forces engaged in an armed conflict against an opposing armed force in which Luminerra is not a belligerent party. The act or acts of heroism must have been so notable and have involved risk of life so extraordinary as to set the individual apart from their comrades.
