Islamic Liberty Party (Sharifistan)

The İslami Hürriyet Partisi or Islamic Liberty Party is a left-wing, Pan-Islamist political party in Sharifistan that was founded on April the 15th 2021 by Suleiman Muhammad Khan.

Policies

Replacing the death penalty with rehabilitation in cocaine use cases.

Criminalisation of male adultery and pre-marital sex for Muslims.

Reserving a percentage of places at universities for women and a percentage for Romani Travellers.

Expanding the remit of the Islamic Religious Police.

A crackdown on bootlegging.

Requiring all Qadis (judges), cabinet ministers, civil servants, military officers, soldiers and police personnel to swear an oath to uphold the Book of Justice.

Encouraging polygyny in order to ensure that war widows can have husbands.

A crackdown on loan-sharking.

Raising the age of consent for unmarried persons to seventeen years and four months regardless of religion.

The establishment of a Sharifistani Court of International Law to try heads of state suspected of war crimes, genocide and crimes against humanity.

Base of support

The party gains support from Muslims of all classes as well as from working-class Christians in the labour movement. The party is supported by many ulama, police officers and soldiers as well as younger military officers and young professionals in general (especially lawyers). It has high rates of female support especially amongst women who wear Hijabs

It lacks support amongst the LGBT due to the homophobia of many of it’s leaders.

It has high rates of support amongst minority ethnic people and immigrants, especially female immigrants.
