Peter is an Besmenian sitcom television series that originally aired on BRF 1 from September 24, 1978 to March 22, 1985. The series was created by Bernhard Krause. The show takes place in Laitstadt and is about the life of the postman Peter Köhler, his friends and his work colleagues.
Cast and characters
- Egon von Möller as Peter Köhler: Peter works as a postman for the Besmenian Federal Post in Laitstadt. He enjoys life as a single, but decides to go on dates from the 6th season on, which are almost always unsuccessful. Peter is intelligent and likes classical music. In many episodes, Peter seems a bit clumsy and quirky. In previous episodes he also appeared a bit shy.
- Konrad Schulz as Theodor Schmidt:Theodor Schmidt is Peter's friend. Theodor is self-confident and usually always in a good mood. He also works at the post office. Theodor is successful with women and almost always has a date. Together with Peter he goes for a drink at Norbert's Bar after work, although he has a weakness for alcoholic drinks, which often leads to problematic situations.
- Harald Hof as Norbert Frickler: Norbert Frickler is the owner of Norbert's Bar. He is very interested in sports. Norbert is married to his wife Helen, although the two have not had a happy marriage for years. He often give Peter and Theodor advice, which, however, usually end in disaster.

After the series was discontinued in 1985, reruns ran on BRF 1 until 1990. From 1990 to 1998, reruns were seen on BRF 2. From 2002 to 2010 the series ran in the afternoon program of VINCTV. The series last ran from 2012 to 2015 on BRF Gold.
