The J.17 Hussar is a tactical fighter developed by Myers-Gibbs Aerospace for the Imperial & Federal Aerospace Troops and Imperial & Federal Navy. The J.17 is intended to make up major portions of R.u.B tactical aerospace groups and fleets, and is thus meant to form a flexible base for many operations including aerospace superiority, escort, interception, and strike missions in both void and atmospheric environments. As a tactical fighter, the J.17's flexibility is its most valuable asset, and while it is often outclassed by specialist craft in any particular mission, no other small craft can perform all missions as easily as the J.17. The J.17 is a second generation fighter, still heavily influenced by previous generations of small intrasystem craft, but expanded to take advantage of newly developed warp capabilities. The J.17 is one of the most common small craft in Imperial & Federal service, and is still being mass produced by Myers-Gibbs Aerospace and under contract by other military suppliers.
