AleziRadio Festival of Songs 1976
AleziRadio Festival of Songs 1976 is the nineteenth edition of the annual AleziRadio Festival of Songs. The competition is held by the Royal Radio of Bristol. This is the second time that Bristol hosted the competition previously hosting it in Aubergine in 1960. This makes Bristol together with Pyalivostok and Zafizamarrah as the only three regions who had hosted the competition more than once.
The competition was finally hosted in the City of Victoria which is the capital of the region of Bristol itself for the first time after previously pulling out of hosting due to the British royals visiting Victoria at the time, forcing the competition to be moved to Aubergine. However, due to there's no visits of the royals, it is now possible to host it in the capital of Victoria.
The competition was held in the Royal Theatre of Bristol, which can seat 1,600 people at maximum, however due to the radio and audio systems installed for the competition, the seats are reduced to 1,100 people. Once again, tickets sold out even with the inflated price. The Bristolian Radio tried asking for AleziRadio to broadcast the show into television once again, however AleziRadio still did not have the funding and technology to broadcast the competition for television viewers live. This created outrage from the Bristolian and Zafizamarranian radio authorities saying that if AleziRadio continued to deny television viewers what they want until 1980, both radios would withdraw from the competition.
A rule change stated that each region should send their own conductors for the competition in order to maximize each entry's flavour for the competition, and every time a song would start, the presenter would have to introduce the conductor together with the song, the artist, and the composer.
This edition was met with the return of Khaled Sha'el who represented Tel Hadiv last year, Nawaiz Darudnir who represented Basna back in 1965, and Erin Daqa who represented Basna back in 1964.
Overall, the competition was deemed successful, albeit with the aforementioned television problem.
