The Trident Combat System is a Missile defense that came as a consequance of a joint effort between the nations of Vultesia and Riamo to develop an all-time-ready weapons system capable of defending Satlstil Pact nations against enemies. The system's core works on the principle of continuous ship-to-ship intelligence sharing which allows all connected vessels and equipment to create a united defense network to combat against possible threats.
Development
As the Nam Conflict showed, the east lacked many military or political ties between the nations, and it would be this realization that would make many eastern states to look for closer ties between them. Upon creation of the Saltstil Pact and the Treaty for Exclusive Eastern Technologies (TEETs) it became clear for many military officials that in order to properly defend against outer attacks, a joint defense network had to be established.
1997 saw the first successful deployment of an Air-to-Air ballistic missile that used all-eastern-made guidance and detection technology, and 2001 would see the first live test of the system aboard RRN Friendship, which would become the first eastern vessel to host the Trident System permanently while not having been designed for it.
By 2008 more than a dozen ships hosted Trident-compatible systems and by 2016 at least 30 Trident systems had been installed on vessels with ballistic missile capabilities.
