The Ghafun-Lakhdar Airport is a civilian and military airport located 9.8 kilometers west-north-west of the city of Ghafun, Salamat. The airport was built by the Riamese colonial administration in 1952 and modernized in 1980 and 2007. It is the second busiest airport of Salamat, behind the Dar Al Hamma-Shahid Airport, with 13.2 million passengers travelling by the airport. The airport counts three runways and three terminals, one of them being used by the military.
The Ghafun non-directional beacon is located 1.2 km north of the airport and The Ghafun VOR-DME is located 3.6 km south-west of the airport, near of the city of Hanamak.
