The Presidium of the Supreme Soviet (Russian: Президиум Верховного Совета; tr. Prezidium Verkhovnogo Soveta) is the collective body of power in the Supreme Soviet, acting as the collective head of state of the Soviet Union. The Presidium is headed by the Chairman and their Vice-Chairman. 15 deputies (from each Republic), a secretary and 20 members also make up the membership of the Presidium.
The Chairman is called the Presdent in non-Soviet sources and is recognized as the {{wp|Head of State} of the Soviet Union.
