The All-Charnean Ballgame Team, better known as the Revenants (Tamashek: ⴻⵖⴰ ⴰⵔoⵊⵊ, Eɣa-Arojj), represent Charnea in international Pitz competitions, particularly the World Court. They are counted among the highest rated teams of the sport in recent years, despite a mediocre all-time record due to many decades of inferior performance in the past. Largely seen as a minor sports franchise in Charnea, the All-Charnean team and Pitz fanaticism in general has been on the rise in the last 20 years, displacing Tebillant as Charnea's premiere sporting activity. The rise of Pitz in Charnea is largely responsible for the pressure to improve the national team to represent the country on the international competitive scene, leading to a marked improvement in the scoring and game-winning statistics of the team. Since the first significant victories of the All-Charnean team in the late 2000s, the public has dubbed the players as the "avengers of losses past", eventually developing the team's well known nickname as the "vengeful spirits" or more commonly the "Revenants". The dedication of the national team along with its patrons to reverse the team's low scoring record and settle perceived grudges against foreign rivals has given the team and its supporters in Charnea a controversial reputation for legal but unsportsmanlike behavior and practices.
Controversies
The All-Charnean Ballgame Team are no strangers to controversy, in particular since their major rebranding and reorganization of the 2000s. The first major victories in the world court which stirred up the Pitz fanaticism current of Charnean sports fans gave rise to a practice locally referred to as "scorekeeping". This is the practice among Charnean fans to enumerate all of the wins and losses the All-Charneans have encountered against a specific team, and seeking to secure a positive ratio of wins to losses, and especially to "seek revenge" by winning games against teams which have a highly one-sided win-loss ratio with the All-Charneans, such as the Court Lords of the Mutul. This extends even to friendly games which are not part of official tournaments and championships, giving the Charnean fans a reputation as unsportsmanlike and abrasive to the conduct of a fair game without incidents.
Rivalries
Court Lords
The Revenants hold a largely unrequited rivalry with the originators of the sport and one of the best teams in the World Court, the Mutulese national team better known as the Lords of the Court. As one of the best teams in the sport, the Mutulese Six as they are known in Charnea have frequently humiliated the All-Charnean team in past championships. Devastating 5-0 losses to the Court Lords have become generational folklore among followers of Charnean Pitz, fueling a desire among the supporters of the national team to defeat the team which they see above all others as their prime rival. Unlike many of the other
