Guri

Guri is a meteopolitan area located in the homonym region of Riamo.

The term Guri is theorized to have originated by the 2000s, from popular culture, as a despective way to name the inhabitants of Portagur and its surrounding areas, but was eventually adopted into regional slang as a local nickname for the larger metropolitan area.

By 2012, the name was officially recognized as an unofficial term to refer to the region.

Because of ongoing power voids and clashes between authorities of Uryville and Portagur in 2022, the term has grown in popularity as a possible new official name for the three-city metropolis around the Leight river.
