Mount Athos (Athonite: Agios Athonikius), also refered to as the "Holy Mountain" (Athonite: Sanctus/Hagios Oros is the highest mountain in the Holy Athonite State. Mount Athos has 88 peaks, deep gorges, and exceptional biodiversity. The highest peak, Mytikas (Μύτικας Mýtikas), meaning "nose", rises to 2,919 metres (9,577 ft)
