Mount Athos (Athonite: Agios Athonikius), also refered to as the "Holy Mountain" (Athonite: Sanctus/Hagios Oros) is the highest mountain in the Holy Athonite State. Mount Athos has 88 peaks, deep gorges, and exceptional biodiversity. The highest peak rises to 2,919 metres (9,577 ft)
