Elena Revna Eiriksdóttir af Skjæran is an Acrean politican serving as the Chancellor of Acrea since 2021, and who previously served as Minister of Foreign Affairs. One of the few members of the Rasmussen Cabinet to not be a member of the Riksdag, Skjæran began her distinguished career in the Acrean Foreign Ministry in 2005. She served as a special adviser and Second Deputy to Rasmussen during Rasmussen's tenure as Minister of Foreign Affairs, before becoming First Deputy Skjæran was nominated by Rasmussen in April 2019, and approved by the Riksdag the same month.
Personal Life
Skjæran was born in the northern town of Västerfjäll in the Duchy of Åland to Eirik Arnesson Skjæran, a career military officer, and Eva Leifsdóttir Skjæran, a nurse. She is a member of the Skjæran family, a prominent political and military family. She attended school in Västerfjäll, graduating with her abitur in 2001. Following graduation, she attended the University of Stavanger, pursuing a dual degree in International Relations and Foreign Languages. She obtained her BSc in 2005, and an MA in 2006.
Skjæran is a practiced polyglot, being at least conversationally proficient in Nordic, Gothic, Venetian, Ravkan, Ossorian Gaelic, Syaran, Svinian, and Ruvelkan. She is an avid fan of football, and is a fan of Stavanger FK.
