Legislative branch
The legislature consists of a unicameral system National Assembly. The National Assembly consists of 400 members, who have the power to draft, amend, and enact legislation and the power to revise the Constitution. The Assembly can be dissolved by the president's decision, but in this case, a final ruling from the Supreme Court is required.
Executive branch
The chief executive officer of the administration is the president, who also serves as the head of state. As the head of the administration, the president has executive, military, and diplomatic powers. The president can be impeached if president violates the Constitution, which requires the consent of a majority of the National Assembly and a final ruling by the Supreme Court. The administration is divided into 21 ministries, and ministers of each ministry are appointed by the president.
Judicial branch
The judiciary consists of the district court, the high court, and the Supreme Court. The district court and the high court are scattered in each province, but there is only one Supreme Court. The Supreme Court consists of Supreme Court justices recommended by the president and the National Assembly, and the elected chief justice.
Elections
The president's term is four years and can serve a second term. The term of office of a member of the National Assembly is also four years, and a member of the National Assembly can serve four consecutive terms. Because the president and members of the National Assembly serve the same terms, presidential and general elections generally take place in the same year. That may change if the National Assembly is dissolved or the president is impeached, but there have been no cases of the National Assembly being dissolved or the president being impeached at this time. The term of office of the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court is two years, and you can serve one consecutive term.
All elections in Cheonghae, including presidential and general elections, are held in direct elections for all citizens over the age of 16. In the case of the National Assembly, half of the seats adopt a single-member constituency System, which allocates seats to each district, while the other half are elected through proportional representation.
