The Sloughttopian Democratic Party (SDP), or more commonly known as just the Democratic party is one of the two main political parties in Sloughttopia, rivaled with the Monarchial Party. The Democratic Party is represented by blue and the stallion.
The Democratic Party was established by the first prime minister of Sloughttopia, Yuni Williams in September of 2023. They, unlike the rivaled Monarchial Party focus on things like housing, personal freedoms, health, construction and maintainence of places of worship, etc. It is also slightly modeled after the American democratic party. This attention to citizen opinion and wellbeing is rumored to be where the name 'Democratic Party' comes from.
The Democratic Party, much like the Monarchial Party can be split into 3 sections, executive, legislative, and civil. The executive section consists of a position for the prime minister. The legislative section is a branch of the Sloughttopian Legislature that also includes member of the monarchial party. There can also be members of all other parties in the legislative section. People in the legislative section usually host meeting to vote for things and to pass bills and laws. There are legislative elections on the third week of May every year. The civil section consists of civil servant member of the low parts of the government. Usually, mayors would fall into this section.
The stallion represents health and agility for the hope of health and satisfaction for the Sloughttopian people. The blue represents democracy peace, knowledge, and inspiration. The stallion or horse is ironically one of the few popular animals which can not be found in Sloughttopia, even domestically (as of 2024).
