Map of the First Winter Period, right before the onset of the Bun Conquest of the East.

The First Winter Period was a period in Yinese history that lasted from approximately 1030 to 918 BCE when the Chiu dynasty reunited Yingok. The period's name derives from the Winter Annals, a chronicle of the state of Wong and became the standard name for future splintering periods in Yingok.

During this period, royal An control over the various local polities eroded as regional lords increasingly exercised political autonomy, negotiating their own alliances, waging wars amongst themselves, up to defying the king's court in Fanyi. The First Winter Period is generally divided into two phases: the Upper and Lower First Winter Periods. The beginning of the Bun Conquest of the East is considered the marker for the end of the Upper First Winter and the beginning of the Lower First Winter.
