The Ascendant Stellar Federation of Aoraqet'ya or Auracexia, is an interstellar astropolity located in the Aoraqet'yari Cluster in the constellation of Lyra within the Orion Spur of the Milky Way in the Alpha Quadrant ~1,200 light years (~840,000,000,000 miles) from Sol (the Sun), in the Sol System. The Ascendant Stellar Federation consists of twenty-five star systems: the Aoraqet'yari Stellar Trinity, Trusqáeanti, Apus Kemïthean System, Xïrisi, Azéan, Kaérelléan, Daéphadus, Lûgästine, Xïür Kóbrÿran, Vol Aevéroni, Föergan, Férsónni, Mórdänyaq, Aq Téanï, Athévónai, Aétemnian. Atráeltânï, Tïór Xénâti, Aéóneüsan, Kis Aláthéïan, Véla Brïéan, Avéráthéoni, Aéthyréoni, Arq Tûran, and Amarÿsan with the latter being a pre-main sequence star; containing fifty planets of which there are sixteen Terran planets, eleven desert planets, nine oceanic planets, four ice giants, eight Jovian planets and two dwarf planets.
Overview
Etymology
The name Aoraqet'ya was chosen by Prime Archon Séterrhÿana N. D. Ravÿnna-Asträeva as the formal name of the nation as well as the planet, marking the end of the Lyr'Davni Stellar Dominion on 1 Athyr-met, during the 1st year of the 1st Era of the Advent of the Aoraqet’yari (equiv. to March, 15 16,207 BCE).
Auracexia is an accepted exonym when dealing with foreign nations. However, the people of Aoraqet'ya —the Aoraqet'yari— prefer the endonym Aoraqet'ya. In the Aoraqet'yari langauage, the name means 'Of the Ascendant Dawn', Aoraq (Rising or Ascendant) paired with Aqet (dawn, sunrise, first light), and the suffix 'yari ((People) Of the). The name Aoraqet'ya could also be linked to a pair of constellations that only appear in the Northern Hemisphere of Aoraqet'ya Prime during the beginning of the year (March 15), of Aoraq the Goddess of Fortune & Prosperity, and Qetya the Goddess of Dawn.
History
Main article: History of Aoraqet'ya
Descending from the Lyr'Davni, originally a space-faring merchant culture, the Aoraqet'yari have expanded across a small sector of the Orion Arm of the Milky Way Galaxy in search of other worlds, eventually discovering eleven star systems and forty-nine other planets within the Aoraqet'yari star cluster
Geography
The Ascendant Stellar Federation of Aoraqet'ya is composed of sixteen Terran planets, eleven desert planets, nine ocean planets, four ice planets, eight Jovian planets divided between gas giants and ice giants and two dwarf planets totalling fifty planets. As with the sheer size of the Ascendant Stellar Federation of Aoraqet'ya, the nation's population of 7,780,163,860 citizens, which in the terms of Earth-bound nation-states, would make it one of the largest nations on Earth by population, straddling fifty planets in some of the most diverse astrographical areas of the galaxy with climates ranging from arctic tundra to deserts and plains to lush tropical jungles, and vast oceanic worlds.
Location
The entirety of the Ascendant Stellar Federation of Aoraqet'ya lies within the Orion Spur of the Alpha Quadrant.
Climate
On the Terran planets and desert planets the prevalent climatology is that of the polar climate; icecaps, permafrost, glaciers, icebergs, between the 90ºN to 60ºN and 60ºS to 90ºS latitudes. Subarctic climate north above the 60ºN and south below the 60ºS latitudes, Humid continental and semi-arctic between the 60ºN to 45ºN and 45ºS to 60ºS latitudes with some winter conditions in the fall-winter seasons and spring-like conditions in the spring-summer seasons. Between the 40ºN to 15ºN and 15ºS to 40ºS latitudes, much of the areas are predominantly humid subtropical, marine, semi arid to arid, with large areas of temperate grasslands, savannas, and shrublands predominantly found in large river basins fed by rivers, lakes, reservoirs, estuaries, wetlands, seas and oceans with these being less likely on desert planets. Tropical wet and tropical dry climates between 15ºN and 15ºS latitudes, with the tropical wet climate being more prevalent near the equatorial regions.
The ocean planets predominately have similar climates as that of terran and desert planets, though the oceans on such planets would be hundreds of kilometers deep, much deeper than the oceans of Earth. The immense pressures in the lower regions of these oceans could lead to the formation of a mantle of exotic forms of ice. This ice would not necessarily be as cold as conventional ice. If the planet is close enough to its star that the water reaches its boiling point, the water will become supercritical and lack a well-defined surface. Even on cooler water-dominated planets, the atmosphere can be much thicker than that of Earth, and composed largely of water vapor, producing a very strong greenhouse effect.
Smaller ocean planets would have less dense atmospheres and lower gravity; thus, liquid could evaporate much more easily than on more massive ocean planets. Theoretically, such planets could have higher waves than their more massive counterparts due to their lower gravity.
Aoraqet'ya's ice planets are usually hostile to life as we know it because they are very cold, at least on the surface. Many ice planets may have subsurface oceans, warmed by their cores or tidal forces from another nearby body, specifically gas giants. Liquid subsurface water would provide habitable conditions for life, including fish, plankton, and microorganisms. Subsurface plants and microorganisms would not perform photosynthesis because sunlight is blocked by overlying ice; instead they produce nutrients using specific chemicals called chemosynthesis. Some worlds, if conditions are right, may have significant atmospheres and surface liquids like Saturn's moon Titan which could be habitable for exotic life forms.
Aoraqet'ya's Jovian planets or giant planets are divided between Gas giants and ice giants, are massive planets and have a thick atmosphere of hydrogen and helium. They may have a dense molten core of rocky elements, or the core may have completely dissolved and dispersed throughout the planet if the planet is hot enough. In "traditional" giant planets such as Jupiter and Saturn (the gas giants) hydrogen and helium constitute most of the mass of the planet, whereas they only make up an outer envelope on Uranus and Neptune, which are instead mostly composed of water, ammonia, and methane and therefore increasingly referred to as "ice giants".
Aoraqet'ya's two dwarf planets; Although smaller than the larger Terran and desert planets, these dwarf planets would have similar climate conditions as those of the Terran and desert planets, although because of their smaller size it is difficult to determine if these dwarf planets would be large enough to sustain an atmosphere, thereby shedding considerable doubt regarding whether they would be habitable.
Terrain
Icecaps, glaciers and icebergs in the oceans of the terran, desert, ocean and ice planets between the 90ºN to 60ºN and 60ºS to 90ºS latitudes. Broad expanse of tundra and forests between the 60ºN to 45ºN and 45ºS to 60ºS latitudes. Continental, mountainous throughout central regions between the 40ºN to 15ºN and 15ºS to 40ºS latitudes, predominantly desert and grasslands nearer the larger mountain ranges with accompanying plains and river basins. Large areas of temperate grasslands, savannas, and shrublands predominantly found in large river basins fed by rivers, lakes, reservoirs, estuaries, wetlands, seas and oceans with these being less likely on desert, ice, ocean and dwarf planets. Tropical wet and tropical dry climates between 15ºN and 15ºS latitudes, with the tropical wet climate being more prevalent near the equatorial regions.

The Ascendant Stellar Federation of Aoraqet'ya has a free education system, which is guaranteed for all citizens by the Constitution, however entry to subsidized higher education is highly competitive. As a result of great emphasis on science and technology in education, Aoraqet'yari medical, mathematical, scientific, and aerospace research is generally of a high order.
Since 16,208 BCE, the 11-year school education has been introduced. Education in state-owned secondary schools is free. University level education is free, with exceptions. A substantial share of students are enrolled for full pay (many state institutions started to open commercial positions in the last years).
In 2280, state spending for education amounted to 6.8% of the GDP or 13.3% of government expenditure. The Government allocates funding to pay the tuition fees within an established quota or number of students for each state institution. In higher education institutions, students are paid a small stipend and provided with free housing if they are from out of town.
The oldest and largest Aoraqet'yari universities are Serq'khetyeva University and Keminis'ya University. In the 2270s, in order to create higher education and research institutions of comparable scale in Aoraqet'yari regions, the government launched an initiative of establishing "heirarchic universities", mostly by merging existing large regional universities and research institutes and providing them with a special funding. These new institutions include Föerga Hierarchic University, Aq Téani Hierarchic University, Apus Kemïthea Hierarchic University, Xienna Hierarchic University, and Cérellé Hierarchic University.
Health
The Ascendant Stellar Federation of Aoraqet'ya guarantees free, universal health care for all its citizens. As of 18511, the average life expectancy in Aoraqet'ya was 9,976 years.

Culture
Aoraqet'yari are highly social beings and tend to live in large social groups. More than any other creature, the Aoraqet'yari are adept at utilizing systems of communication for self-expression, the exchange of ideas, and organization, and as such have created complex social structures composed of many cooperating and competing groups. Aoraqet'yari groups range from families to nations.
Social interactions between Aoraqet'yari have established an extremely wide variety of values, social norms, and rituals, which together form the basis of Aoraqet'yari society. Aoraqet'yari previous to their ‘alteration’ were completely human, although inherently immune to the banes of modern mankind such as frailty, sickness and death. As such, previous to their ‘alteration’ Aoraqet'yari enjoyed extreme longevity (1,500-2,000 years) far surpassing that of modern humans, post-alteration this has become somewhat of a ‘curse’ as due to artificial engineering, the effect of free radicals on the body have been effectively neutralized, allowing Aoraqet'yari effective immortality.
In addition to living in large social groups, a substantial majority of Aoraqet'yari are divided into houses or dynasties — through progressive series of marriages, Aoraqet'yari dames rose in social rank gaining considerable political clout. Owing to the lack of sexual division throughout the Ascendant Stellar Federation of Aoraqet'ya, Aoraqet'yari women abandoned the old traditions that had previously been assigned based on gender, with families becoming matriarchal. Aoraqet'yari dames — the sires of their offspring, began marrying dames or mothers of other families, and through this practice the oldest and most venerable houses of Aoraqet'yari society were born. The matriarch or head of a House possessing such a higher social rank are therefore privy to the political matters and have considerable power and influence on politics, even at the lowest administrative subdivision.
In Aoraqet'yari society, aside from choosing a mate based on the typical qualities (hip-to-waist ratio, breast size and hair quality/color), mates are chosen based on additional characteristics: eye color, tentacle coloration and pattern, size, and flexibility. Another means of attaining higher social rank, is that of being an Aoraqet'yari woman of considerable beauty, those aware of their qualities possessing enough cunning can utilize this same quality to exploit the favors of others for her benefit, or hold in check the favor she exhibits to others until a more favorable woman is found to be her mate.
As a result of the establishment of houses, Aoraqet'yari society became divided into social classes:
- Grand Dames, women who've sired and birthed children
- Dames, those who've only sired children
- Matriarchs, those who only birthed children
- Femmes, those who have reached the age of maturity and are of breeding age
- Ingénue, those who have not reached the age of maturity.
Language
Aoraqet'yari are extremely adept in modern human linguistics as their language is a proto-language; their 'royal tongue' dialect resembles at most a combination of ancient Egyptian, Arabic and Slavic languages, the Aoraqet'yari common language is resembles a fusion of Slavic and Latin.
Alphabet
The Aoraqet'yari language has thirty-two letters with a unique alphabet.

Gender Roles
The lack of sexual division between Aoraqet'yari has been marked culturally by a corresponding unity of roles, norms, practices, dress, behaviour, rights, duties, privileges, status, and power. Originally, the cultural differences by gender were believed to have arisen naturally out of the previous division of reproductive labor; the biological fact that women gave birth led to their further cultural responsibility for nurturing and caring for children. Since the elimination of genders and the subsequent consolidation of male and female into one gender within the Aoraqet'yari race, gender roles have virtually vanished as the difference between male and female blurred into one cohesive gender. What challenges were present upon the advent of this unified gender have long since been addressed and shows little to no effect in Aoraqet'yari society today.
Social Rank & Status
Society within Aoraqet'ya is highly matriarchal, as the eldest female not only leads her family, but wields a sizable amount of political power. Throughout the Aoraqet'yari worlds, the Matriarch of an Order is considered to be one of the highest levels of local government. Historically, when the population of the Aoraqet'yari were in the number of millions as a result of the Kolridathi Curse, and the population of the Aoraqet'yari worlds were recovering, the practice of plural marriage became accepted as a means of saving themselves from near extinction. Decades after the population recovered enough to where extinction was no longer a threat, the institution of plural marriage became more equated to a display of social status, to where the more women an Aoraqet'yari had as wives, the more prominence she would achieve in local society. Eventually, the more prominent women began establishing dynasties or orders where members of their lineage were given an amount of power equivalent to their position within said dynasty.

The has the largest and most technologically powerful economy in the world, with a per capita GDP of $53,000. In this market oriented economy, private individuals and business firms make most of the decisions, and the federal, state and the governments of the autonomous republics buy needed goods and services predominantly in the private marketplace. SHA business firms enjoy greater flexibility than their counterparts in Western Europe and Japan in decisions to expand capital plant, to lay off surplus workers, and to develop new products. At the same time, they face higher barriers to enter their rivals' home markets than foreign firms face entering SHA markets. SHA firms are at or near the forefront in technological advances, especially in computers and in medical, aerospace, and military equipment; their advantage has narrowed since the end of the Lyr'Davni-Kol'ridathi Galactic War in 21,208 BCE. The onrush of technology largely explains the gradual development of a "three-tier labor market" in which those at the bottom lack the education and the professional/technical skills of those at the top and, more and more, fail to get comparable pay raises, health insurance coverage, and other benefits; while those in the middle are moderately educated and possess some of the professional/technical skills through education whether it be in community colleges or in universities. Since the Twentieth Era, 261st year (equiv to 2290 CE), practically all of the gains in household income have gone to the top 30% of households. The rebuilding of post-war Aoraqet'yari society showed the remarkable resilience of the economy. The post-war period required major shifts in national resources to the military in the creation of a self-defense force. The rise in GDP in 2261-64 was undergirded by substantial gains in labor and productivity. Declining resource prices through 2262-2264 prevented inflation and unemployment, and the economy continued its growth through year-end 2264. Imported resources accounts for about one-quarter of SHA consumption. Long-term advantages include adequate investments in economic infrastructure, rapidly falling medical and pension costs of an aging population, sizable trade surpluses, and an escalation of family income in the lower economic groups. The nation's Gross Domestic Product (GDP) reached a record $256.89 trillion in 2287. Together, these advantages caused a marked increase in the value and status of the Aoraqet'yari Kurav'i worldwide in 2287.
