2009 is the first collaborative album between Hytek singer and producer Daile and Kustlandic-Juznik singer-songwriter Gatzke Stienstra, released on May 19, 2015, through Daile's label Blue Sky and Stienstra's labels MMG and Wonderland Records. A continuation of Daile's unique art and dream pop with elements of electropop mixed in, but largely a deviation from Steinstra's instrumental and hearty style of music, the album became renowned for Stienstra's performance over minimalist and atmospheric backing beats and soundtracks more commonplace in Daile's projects. The album was mainly produced by Daile, Stienstra and Midrasian producer Isaac Carré, who worked with Daile on many of her previous projects. It also features contributions from the likes of Mascyllary producer Oscar Bernbaum, Ainharic producer Dolen MacQuelen and Alriikan DJ Leammu Johánas.
The bulk of the album was recorded following the conclusion of Stienstra's 1989 Tour in 2014, but snippets of the album had been written and produced before that, including the album's leading single "S'Évanouir" (Midrasian for "faint"), which was performed after Daile was revealed as a surprise act at one of Stienstra's 1989 Tour performances in Lekkum. The album has since received critical acclaim for its use of obscure instrumentals and combination of the strengths of both of its artists. The album won Album of the Year at the 2015 AKMA Music Awards, marking Daile's first and Stienstra's third time winning the award, the latter also winning in 2014 with 1989. Hytek music magazine HQL rated the album at 8.8/10, the highest rating given out in 2015 - also winning its album of the year award.
