Lucas Brown (September 17, 1973 - Present) is the incumbent President of Libertas Omnium Maximus. He was elected September 7th, 2016. Brown was a successful lawyer and politician before running for president. He attended The Litudinem Legal Academy and has a Bachelors degree in Political Sciences. Brown is married and has three children.
Early Life
Lucas Brown was born on September 17, 1963 in St. John's Hospital, Litudinem, Libertas Omnium Maximus to Andrew and Jane Brown. His father owned a small law firm in downtown Litudinem, while his mother worked as a law clerk. Lucas attended St. John's Academy from 1st-12th grade, Portland University for college, where he received a Bachelor's degree in Political Sciences, and the Litudinem Legal Academy for law school. He received his Juris Doctorate in 1986. Throughout his school life, he maintained relatively poor grades in mathematics and science while he became highly skilled at debate and the Humanities. He had the predisposition for politics at a young age.
Legal Career
After Law School, Brown interned extensively in numerous Litudinem law firms before cementing himself a position at Monroe & Jacobs, a firm that specialized in business regulations. There he became regarded as a highly knowledgeable, reputable, and successful lawyer. He also became a strong and vocal proponent of business de-regulation and a less regulated market. In 1993, Brown announced that he would run for a political position since the nation was, "trending too far to the left economically for its own good." Brown worked for M & J until 1994 when he ran for Representative of Litudinem County in the Province Legislature.
Political Career
Early Politics
In 1994 Brown was elected to the Pasarelle Province Legislature as the representative of Litudinem County. Many of the policies Brown voted for contributed heavily to an economic revitalization of Litudinem unlike any that had been seen since before the Maximusian Market Collapse of 1966. As a result, He easily won a second term on the legislature. Brown's second term was less eventful and the young politician quickly turned his focus on bigger things. Brown did not seek re-election after his second term expired in 1998.
Senator
Brown narrowly won the Pasarelle Senatorial Race in 2000, beating out Laurence Moreau for the spot by a 5.6% margin. Brown served as a senator from 2000 to 2016. While serving in his position, Brown served on the Senate Ethics Committee from 2004 to 2010 and the Senate Judiciary Committee from 2008 to 2014. Throughout his 16 year tenure in the Vox Regionum, Lucas Brown maintained fairly good approval ratings and was generally well liked for his calm demeanor and general willingness to compromise.
President
In 2014 Lucas Brown announced that he would be running for President of Libertas Omnium Maximus in the 2016 elections. He won both the electoral college and the popular vote on September 7th, 2016. Brown has been in office since then but is up for re-election on September 7th, 2020.
Personal Life
In 1996 Lucas Brown was married to Maria Brown. The two had three children. Their oldest was born in 1997, their second in 1999, and their youngest in 2001. Brown is a practicing Catholic and regularly attends his local church.
