Kissankyla, formally known as the Principality of Kissankyla (Kissankylan: Kissakylän ruhtinaskunta), is a sovereign state in Anteria. A semi-constitutional monarchy, it is led by Princess Asta of House Kissa. The history of the state spans back to its formation as a mere duchy and scarred by conflicts over forced, rapid industrialization with the government usually coming out with a narrow victory despite widespread devastation. In modern times, progress is and independence are widely held principles.
Etymology
Kissankyla translates to "Cat Village". Many trace back the name to centuries before the formation of the duchy when all there was in present day Belogor was a mere village where many cats called home. Other explanations have suggested that cats have less to do with the animal and more to do with the many women that were in the village of the time, and referring to them as cats.

Politics and Government
Kissankyla is governed by a Semi-Constitutional Monarchy, as such the monarch and legislature share powers. The Head of State, the Crown Princess, is the face of the nation and often ends up guiding the political agenda of the state, despite the legislature having legal independence. The First Minister is the Head of Government, selected by a majority of the legislative body they oversee, the National Assembly.
National Assembly
The National Assembly of Kissankyla operates much like unicameral parliaments. It has a First Minister, the leader of the government; a Lord Speaker of the Assembly, an independent officer who presides over the chamber and ensures order; government ministers, officers who ensure the effective administration and running of Her Majesty's Ministries; and the many delegates elected by the people of Kissankyla. Members of the legislature are known as delegates. They represent many evenly proportioned districts across the country, with a redistricting process done every decade to ensure accurate representation, while additional seats could be added as population continues to climb. Every 3 years, half of the Assembly is elected for terms of 6 years with no term limits. Currently, there are four parties in the legislature: The Kissankyla Independence Party (KIP), The Old Conservative Alliance (OCA), The Socialist Party of Kissankyla (SPK), and The Liberal Monarchist Party (LMP). The KIP holds most of the seats, and rules in coalition with the OCA for a total majority of 463 seats. Breakdown: 339 KIP, 124 OCA, 215 LMP, 8 SPK, 14 Independents
