The Imperial Consul of Mesogeia is the head of the government of the Empire of Mesogeia. The Imperial Consul is the link between the executive and legislative branches of government, answering to the Imperial Parliament, and serving at the pleasure of the Emperor. The Imperial consul presides over the Cabinet, a committee consisting of all the most senior government ministers typically known as Logothete.

There is no written establishment of the office, the office instead exists as a result off a long standing tradition whereby the monarch appoints the leader of the party commanding the confidence of the Chamber of Plebeians to the position of Imperial consul.

The Imperial Consul is simultaneously Grand Logothete and Count of the Imperial Treasury, positions held in commission by tradition,
