The Council of Secret Books (祕書省, brjigh-st′ja-srêng′) is a department of the Themiclesian government. It has few functions today.

Name and etymology

Prior to the restoration of the Meng dynasty in 542, there was a Department of Secret Books (秘書監, brjigh-st′ja-kram), with identical functions. After the restoration, Emperor Ngjon renamed the department. The word brjigh is a phono-semantic compound, where 必 is the phonogram, while the interpretation of the semantogram 禾 "barley" is unclear.

Functions

Since it is called the Council of Secret Books, functions are very classified.
