  • The Thrall Rebellion (Þræl Wiðerwinnan), or Thrall uprising, otherwise known as the Fyrish civil war, was an anti-Casaterran uprising that took place in the Federated Fire Territories[2] between 1779 and 1783, towards the end of the ###ADMINISTRATION NAME### administrations term.

    Background

    Origins of Thrall tensions

While the Industrial Revolution was taking hold of Casaterra, Fyrland was still largely an agrarian nation, with around 64% of the populous involved with agriculture, with exceedingly low standards of living in rural areas, and heavy Casaterran influence on the coasts. The vast rift between living stanards of the inland rural farming communities, and the rich coastal cities, created a strong pull for the labour force to move in search of better ways of life; however, due to the still widespread Serfdom of the underclass, known as thralls, the majority of the rural populous did not have the privilege to move to the coast. Those thralls which managed to free themselves of the debt bondage confining them to the countryside, would often end up making the journey to the coasts in search of work, which would continue to offer employment and living standards completely unheard of inland. Inevitably, with such a strong pull for the labour force to move, labour market saturation took hold rapidly, especially so in Casaterran controlled ports where the highest standards of living were; in turn, the economic exploitation seen, particularly in Casaterran controlled ports, exploded abruptly and was rife during the 1770s.
