Casaterra is Septentrion's smallest largest continent by area, located primarily in the northern hemisphere, and centrally across the western and eastern hemispheres. Casaterra covers an area of 10,180,000 square kilometers, about 7% of Septentrions's total land area and 2% of the world's total surface area.

Casaterra, in particular ancient Sylva, is the birthplace of Western culture. In Ancient Sylva, "Casaterra" meant Sylva and neighbouring lands as far as central Kaea, and western Evora belonged to Casaterra because some ancient Sylvans colonised and resided there. The fall of the Sylvan Empire, during the migration period, marked the end of ancient history and the beginning of an era known as the "middle ages".

The Renaissance humanism, exploration, art, and science led the "old continent", and eventually the rest of the world, to the modern era. From this period onwards, Casaterra played a predominant role in global affairs. Between the 16th and 20th centuries, Casaterran nations controlled at various times the Meridias, most of Evora, and the majority of Kaea.

Casaterra is bound on the west and southwest by the Crimson Sea, on the east and southeast by the Strachan Sea, and on the north by the Northern Sea.
