The Friedrich Wilhelm Institute for Disease Control and Research (Friedrich Wilhelm Reichsinstitut für Seuchenkontrolle und -forschung) is the leading public health institute in the Englean Empire, existing as a federal agency under the Imperial Ministry for Health. Its main goal is to protect public health and safety through the control and prevention of disease, injury, and disability in the Englean Empire, its territories and internationally. Originally created to focus on infectious diseases, it has expanded to incoporate focus on food borne pathogens, environmental health, occupational safety and health, health promotion, injury prevention and educational activities designed to improve the health of Englean citizens.
