The Ostventismarien Freikorps, better known as the Heilmeier Freikorps, was a comprised of Englean officers, soldiers, and civilians trapped within territories occupied by the Frasian Federation and the Rezuan Empire during the Second Great War. Within the occupied territories, this organisation was the primary partisan force opposing the Rezuans and Frasians - with others, such as the People's Home Defense Army, being relatively minor. The organisation was created after the surrender of multiple northeastern Englean states to the invading armies, which were successful in overruning both the Englean Imperial Army and the Landwehr forces in the early years of the war. In 1940, Emperor Wilhelm III appointed Ulrich Heilmeier as the leader of the resistance forces within Rezuan occupied territories. Heilmeier was a First Great War veteran, having served as a Generalmajor during his time. Upon his appointment, Heilmeier was taken out of retirement and promoted to the rank of Generaloberst. In their operations, the organisation would participate in guerilla warfare as well as sabotage in order to hinder the effectiveness of the occupational force. The Freikorps would eventually assist the forces of the Imperial Army and the army of the Rezuan Augustus Everen in the Invasion of Rezua.
