Norminster City Football Cub is a professional association football club based in Norminster, Newrey. The club currently competes in the First Division, the highest tier of Newreyan football. The club is the most successful club in Newreyan history including 24 domestic league titles, 5 Newreyan Challenge Cups and 13 Royal Cup titles, Norminster also remain the only Newreyan team to have achieved the domestic treble. Norminster is also one of the few Newreyan clubs to have Asuran honours, having won the Asuran League three times.
Founded in 1867, Norminster is one of three original founding members of the National League that still competes at a professional level, and the only one that competes at the top flight. It was originally founded as an offshoot of the Norminster Cricket Club, as a means to remain active during the off season, however by the end of the decade it had become a primarily football team. In 1890, it became the first club to turn professional. The team has had two so-called 'Golden Ages', the first going from the resumption of the League following the Great War, till the mid 1910s, with the second not occurring until the late 1970s-80s under former player Brandon Fletcher, which saw the team achieve the first recorded Newreyan treble, as well as numerous Asuran League final appearances. The club is considered to be undergoing a third golden age, starting in 2010 until the present, with the team rarely slipping from the top 5 spots on the Newreyan table.
The team has spent much of its existence at the Church Ground, built in 1910 and holds a capacity of 50,200 following renovations, making it the second largest football specific stadium, and fourth largest of all categories, in Newrey, after the Royal Stadium. The team's traditional colours are blue shirts with white shorts, a tribute to the original colours of the Norminster Cricket Club, and they're most commonly referred to as either The Choir Boys or The Blues. The team shares rivalries with Todmorden Town and The Dale, often referred to as The Big Three. Internationally, the team is known for its many rivalries with Navish teams, most intensely is its rivalry with Hudenholm FK, and to a lesser degree Bersk SK.
