Nikolian Gendarmerie (Serbian: Žandarmerija Nikolije; Mazurian: Żandarmeria Nikolijska), locally simply known as Gendarmerie, is an armed police force subordinate of Nikolia's Ministry of Internal Affairs. Founded in 1905, they served as so called "First Force" in the events of mass riots and as crowd control during the public speeches and parades. Nowadays, their primarily role is counter terrorism, crowd control and protection of high ranking officials.
