Freethinker Mainland

The Mainland is a term that has several connotations in Freethinker parlance, as it can refer to both the Mainland as a political entity, which is the largest contiguous component of the Freethinker Commonwealth on Earth, and also the Mainland Continent (incorporating in turn, the contiguous landmass called the Mainland, and associated islands) that forms the geographic territory of the political' Mainland.

It has been noted that the notion of the Mainland as a political and geographic entity is often hard to distinguish from that of the Freethinker Commonwealth as a whole. Indeed, until the annexation of Fargon, this was the actual circumstance, and organising the federal relationship as colonies and provinces were incorporated into the country has resulted in political and economic issues given the massive concentration of the population and economy in the Mainland.
