History

Preparation codes

The units of the Stasnovan Revolutionary Army, as well as most of the branches of the Stasnovan Armed Forces, operate under a single preperation code. The Stasnovan preperation codes, similar, if not identical to that of the Cydonian Army, are divided into three groups:

  • A Group: A unit under A group is active. All personnel and equipment are accounted for. Deployment time 24 hours.
  • B Group: A unit under this group is partially active. All personnel is active but equipment may need organization and ready period. Deployment time 2-3 Days.
  • C Group: Units unded the c C Group are below partially active. Current Personnel is inactive and equipment may be outdated and require maintenance or ready periods. Deployment time 1-2 Weeks.

Unit organisation

The order of battle of a typical Motor Rifle Division

The Stasnovan Revolutionary Army is organised on a Division and Regiment-based structure, with some exceptions. The two main types of Division in the SRA are the Motor Rifle, and Tank Division. The Motor Rilfe Division (MRD), the most numerous type of Division in the SRA, is roughly the equivalent of a mechanised infantry division in other armies, equipped with armoured personnel carriers (APCs), infantry fighting vehicles (IFVs), and tanks. Typically, a Motor Rifle Division has three Motor Rifle Regiments and one Tank Regiment; in a Tank Division (TD) those proportions are reversed. Both the Tank and Motor Rifle Division have between 8000 and 12000 men, depending of which group of the preparation code they belong to.

There are two types of Motor Rifle Divisions, the BTR MRD, and the BMP MRD. The BMP MRD has two of its Motor Rifle Regiments equipped with BMP-series infantry fighting vehicles and the other with BTRs, while in the BTR MRD this is reversed. In a Tank Division, the Motor Rifle Regiment is equipped solely with BMPs. A BTR motor rifle division has roughly 287 tanks, 150 IFVs and 221 APCs (these are reversed in a BMP MRD); and a tank division has rougly 341 tanks, and 232 IFVs. The motor rifle division also has slightly more artillery.

Another vital unit of thte Stasnovan Revolutionary Army is the Seperate Tank Regiment. The Seperate Tank Regiment is organised like a regural Tank Regiment (3 Tank Battalions, 1 Motor Rifle Battalion, 1 artillery battalion, and other supporting units). However, Seperate Tank Regiments are not part of a Motor Rifle or Tank Division, but are instead subordinate directly to a corps, army or front. They are used as independent maneuver formations, that usually operate along with Motor Rifle Divisions or Tank Divisions, or entirely alone as fast moving, easy to deploy units. These regiments receive the most high quality and modern tanks available in the SRA and the finest tank crews, as well as the assets to accompany them.

vThere are 100 Motor Rifle and 12 Tank Divisions, as well as 30 Seperate Tank Regiments in the Stasnovan Revolutionary Army.
